I think the biggest problem is that many people who think one shouldn't speak one's mind will get upset when somebody else does and an argument ensues.
I do think generally one should speak one's mind.
A friend might be temporarily upset but long term I think it's better.
Without arguments/conflict there can be no progress.
Also, how will a company know to change some policy if nobody speaks up against it?
The sad thing is that the little people facing the customer often says "it's our policy" like it's one of the ten commandments...

Why not?
1. The risks are usually small
2. You might be with majority any way
3. It is healthy to do so mentally
4. You can change your mind any time
5. It is much more likely later you may regret about not doing so than the opposite
6. Isn’t it better to know earlier your foes and friends than later?
7. It is the first time for everyone to be alive, so who is the wiser?

Let yourself be heard. You have got very little to lose and a great deal to gain.
